Distance between computers

How far apart can any two computers be in my network?

No farther apart than 50m for a wireless network, 150m for a phoneline network, and 100m for an Ethernet network.

Note: the range for wireless networks can vary greatly. Performance is affected by thick walls and interference from other wireless networks. If you are using a wireless network in an outdoor space, your range may be far greater than in a home.

Important: BT recommends using the telephone cables to connect PCs via phoneline and Ethernet cables to connect a PC via Ethernet. These cables have been specifically designed for home networking use.
