Bit

Bits are the elements of digital data. All letters, documents, sound, images or other information held in digital format is stored and processed as a stream of ones and zeroes. Each individual 0 or 1 is a bit; the word bit can be read as an abbreviation of Binary digIT. All measurements of network speed are measured by how many thousands or millions of bits can be delivered or received in a time interval.
