What is Dial-up access?
Internet access that is not 'always on'. This usually means the use of older narrowband modem services where you have to dial a number (hence 'dial-up access') to log in to establish a connection every time you want to use the Internet. Service offering dial-up access are limited in bandwidth to 56Kbps or less.
