On the 1^stSeptember Sky will be making a number of price increases to their Digital TV prices. Prices will increase by up to £2 per month. A £24 per year price increase.

You must be a Sky TV customer in order to subscribe to Sky telephone or broadband services. The minimum monthly fee is £16. BT Vision is available with no monthly subscription charges.

All See Speak Surf packages are only available on unbundled exchanges. A £30 connection charge also applies and a 12 month contract.

Tiscali Anytime calls cost £7.99 per month. BT can offer the same plan for just £4.95 per month with a 12 month renewable contract.

Tiscali line rental costs £10.99 per month compared to from just £10.50 per month with BT.

Calls to any Tiscali Customer services departments are charged at 0871 rates, 10ppm or 5ppm from a Tiscali landline. BT is free.

PC Security costs extra with Tiscali. Norton Internet Security for example costs £3.50 per month. That is an additional charge of £42 per year.

BT Total Broadband offers much more value than Tiscali; for example, inclusive WiFi minutes, calls over the internet via Broadband Talk, access to TV with BT Vision and free Digital Vault. Tiscali for example do offer a file back up service but it costs £12.99 per year for 1GB.

Virgin Media may claim that their speeds are faster. However, in August 2007 the Advertising Standards Authority publicly said that Virgin Media's "network became slower the more customers used the service at the same time, because of sharing bandwidth on the same node... "

Virgin Media will severely restrict your broadband speed for 5 hours each time you exceed their download limits during peak hours of between 4pm and 9pm.

Virgin Media's mobile, voice and broadband services are supplied separately and do not form a package in the same way as BT Total Broadband Anywhere.

NTL and Telewest are now part of Virgin Media services.
